Palatka Y.R. Fest -Cmdry #5 Orders 11-13-10 009
The Palatka York Rite of Freemasonry held its Fall Y.R. Festival in memory of Brother and Companion Jack Darden, on November 4th, 5th, and 13th, 2010 at the Palatka Masonic Temple. The Mark Master and Past Master Chapter Degrees were presented on Thursday evening, November 4th. The Most Excellent Master and Royal Arch Chapter Degrees were presented on Friday evening, November 5th. The Royal Master and Select Master Council Degrees were portrayed on Saturday morning, November 13th.
Later Saturday morning and afternoon on November 13th, The Knight Templar Orders were conferred. This was a great demonstration and example of York Rite Masonic sharing and cooperation. Companions and Sir Knights assembled from Palatka, Gainesville, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fernandina Beach, Lawtey, St. Augustine, and other points in between, to assist in conferring all the Degrees and Orders. Some said it was the first time in twelve years that Palatka had put together and conferred the York Rite Degrees and Orders in their Temple.
Many Companions and Sir Knights worked very hard to bring it together and put it on in fine and impressive form.
Pictured here are a number of the Companions and Sir Knights with the new Companion/Sir Knight candidates after the Council of Royal & Select Master Degrees and before the Commandery Orders. Standing, left to right, in the first row were: Bill Schrieber, Bobby Niles, new Sir Knights Roger Carpentier, Billy Franklin, Raymond Bryan, and Don Rollison; William L. Buck, MEPGH; William F. Ellis, Corbin P. Elliott, KCT, D.D.G.C. District #7, Grand Commandery of Florida; Gilbert H. Porter, Jim Vanders, Jr., and R. Dean White, Commander of Palatka Commandery No. 5, K. T.
Shown, from left to right, in the second row were: Harvey L. Ward, Sr., MEPGHP; new Sir Knights Truett Yarborough, and Jamie D. Watts; Jimmy Tomilson, Paul O’Kelly, Exum L. Bardin, Del Brasiel, Charles T. Jones, William H. McClean, and Paul James Mast.
Seen in the last row, from left to right, were: George Preston, David E. Tanner, Edward Dunn, Frank T. Camacho, Kurt Legait, KCT, and an unidentified Sir Knight (possibly LeRoy Zetrouer). Many other Companions and Sir Knights, not pictured and too numerous to mention, helped and participated in the Degrees and Orders. It is believed that everyone had an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
